Colombier Beach

Despite being difficult to access in theory, this beach is quite popular, in fact some feel it is the nicest on the island. Wildlife you might come across here includes sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, starfish… and, on land, tortoises and numerous butterflies. Therefore it is worth the walk, which takes about 20 minutes, via a fairly steep footpath. In fact, there is a choice of footpath from La Petite Anse or from Colombier, so is not so difficult to reach. Or an even better way to arrive is by boat, following the lead of the many yachtsmen and women who come here for a dip. Nestled at the heart of the island’s natural marine reserve, with its rich ecosystem and clear turquoise waters teeming with aquatic flora and fauna, this is an idyllic place with a wealth of charm – its popularity is not so surprising after all.
